Tim Poth was first licensed in 2019 as KC3OON as a tech and then upgraded to General and finally Extra in late 2020 when he obtained the vanity call of W3QP. While Tim has a home station most of his operating is done while camping and hiking with Summits On The Air (SOTA) being what he is most passionate about. Tim’s first summit was Mount Killington in October of 2021 and he has done over 200 summits since in the North East US, The Canadian Rockies and Norway and is always planning his next outing. Outside of Amateur Radio Tim enjoys working on projects around the house, working on jeeps and spending time with his dog Piter who accompanies him on most of his SOTA activations.
