He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has taken graduate level Electrical Engineering courses at Marquette University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Georga Tech, GE, and ABB. He currently is retired after working for fifty years in the electric utility field. His expertise was in electric power generation, transmission, and distribution, having completed engineering and design work for high voltage facilities throughout the northeastern United States. He also did consulting work for wind, solar and battery generation projects throughout the United States. At his retirement he was the Manager of Engineering for Tangibl Group Inc. in Radnor, PA.

Harry became interested in radio and electronics in 1963 and he and several of his friends became interested in Ham Radio in 1964. It was the beginning of the space race and technology was changing very rapidly. He and his friends did not have a mentor and did all their research and study on their own, learning from each other as they developed their knowledge. Harry received his novice license in the summer of 1964, his general license in  summer of 1965, His Advanced in the fall of 1990, and his Extra in the winter of 1991. His interest in Ham Radio lead to an interest in going to college to pursue an engineering degree. In college he became interested in the electric power field which led to a career in electric power. Harry’s primary interest in Ham Radio has always been DX and he has confirmed over 250 countries. He no longer pursues DX with the vigor he once did but still occasionally enjoys the chase. His favorite bands are ten meters when it is open, and forty meters working CW or FT8. He has been working two meters since 1978 and used to be found on 146.94 until it moved out of Paoli and now may be found on 146.985.

Harry’s other hobbies include traveling, Freemasonry, and fishing. He never gets the time to do the fishing he would like to; however, he enjoys the occasions he does get out. Harry and his family have travelled all over the United States missing just two states. He will be traveling to North Dakota in the summer of 2024, and Hawaii in the fall of 2024 to complete all fifty states. He will be traveling to Europe in the summer of 2024 and plans to travel to Europe in the summer of 2025. His big activity/passion/lifestyle is Freemasonry. Freemasonry is a large family of connected organizations of which he is a member of many. While Freemasonry is like Ham Radio in that there are many areas of interest to pursue, Harry’s most recent focus is studying, researching, and writing on religion and philosophy.
